DRAMATIC LOOK OF THE WEEK!!!!!

I am so excited about this look. This is dedicated to my sister Keshia who wanted to see a teal/blue look for mother's day. Since I already have so many blue looks posted already I decided to feature this look a my first Dramatic Look Of The Week collection. Not to worry ladies and gents I'm am not walking the streets with this much makeup on lol, it is just for the sake of the blog entry. This was very complicated so I cant tell you step by step how I did it but it will be on my Youtube channel later tonight. Channel is: Kingdom Beauty(simply put) and the tutorial is: Dramatic Look Of The Week(teal and blue). To accomplish this look I used all three of my BH Cosmetic palettes. Well pictures are posted below an if you have any color suggestions for next week's Dramatic Look Of The Week just let me know. Enjoy...

Cant find the right foundation? CHECK THIS OUT......

So last week I started a series about finding the right foundation for you. As promised for the rest of this month, once a week, I'm going to feature a foundation. Last week it was L'oreal's TrueMatch.  This week the foundation recommendation is Revlon's Colorstay with softflex comfort technology. I have been waiting all week to do this blog entry. All I can say is WOW! This is hands down the best foundation I have ever used. I am not a fan of liquid foundation but I can honestly say this is it. It gives full coverage without giving that "casket ready" look. It does not rub off on everything and when I wear it my skin can breathe, I forget that I have it on. Not to mention the fantastic oil control. So after a week of use, this is now my daily foundation of choice. I was sleeping on this for a long time but I'm glad I found it now. I have heard that Revlon's other foundations are just as good and when I try them I will be sure to let ya'll know. Now as far as matching this foundation up to your skin it can be tricky. It took me twenty minutes to decide which was the best choice. For dark skinned women we have three choices. Cappuccino, Mocha, or Mahogany. They each come in the choice of dry skin or combination/oily skin. With Cappuccino it has a lot of red tones to it. So even though dark skinned women can wear it I wouldn't because I don't like the whole red thing with my foundations. Mahogany on the other hand has no red tones to it at all. Which is a little to ashy looking for my skin. Mocha is the middle man of the two which is the color I use. It even looks a little reddish when you first apply it but once it dries it is the perfect match for me. I apply this foundation with an item I got from JoAnn's Fabrics for thirty five cents, called a shellac sponge. Whatever you use to apply it please make sure to use a little water also. It will give a natural look as opposed to that painted on look. If its a brush wet the tip a little, if its a sponge dip the ends. There is a video on Youtube of my application process and a review of the product. Channel is Kingdom Beauty (simply put) Tutorials: Revlon's Colorstay application and review part 1&2. This foundation can be found at any Walmart, Walgreens or CVS. Its about fourteen dollars but worth the price. This is a makeup "must have". Ladies enjoy.........

Bad split ends and lots of hair breakage? CHECK THIS OUT.......

Right now I am wearing braids to protect my hair from the wear and tear of summer weather and styling but when I am wearing my own hair out this is a product that I must have. The product? Dove Damage Therapy shampoo and conditioner. I started using this product about six months ago because I started experiencing lots of hair breakage that seemed to be out of my control. After using this product for a month and a half I noticed a huge difference. Healthier hair, fewer split ends and a change in texture. My hair became softer and lighter.  If your hair is dull, limp, or dry, this is the product for you. If your hair is brittle, you suffer from split ends or breakage, this is the product for you. As African American women moisture is big part of maintaining the health of our hair. This shampoo and conditioner not only restores the natural moisture of your hair but adds micro moisture serum to maintain the moisture level. This product can be found at Walmart, Walgreens or any dollar store. The price varies depending on location but I think the average price is about five dollars a bottle. Treat your hair to a little tlc ladies. Enjoy.......

The look for today is once again using Bh Cosmetics matte and neutral palette. It is a very simple look for those who aren't familiar with make up yet. I used Revlon ColorStay in mocha for my foundation. I used TrueMatch in plum for my blush and my Revlon mineral finish foundation as a highlight. For my lips I used NYC lipstick in mocha and my Mac lipliner in nightmoth. For step by step instructions on this look please visit my Youtube channel later tonight. Want a clearer complexion? Check this out........

The product review for today is for Neutrogena's Deep Clean cream cleanser. Now if you don't wear makeup or deal with acne this might not be a product that you absolutely need but I don't believe it will hurt if you did try it. The purpose of this product is to deep clean pores, dissolve dirt, oil and makeup. It removes dead skin cells that can dry, roughen or dull your complexion. Yes, this product will also clear up your complexion. I personally use this product when Im in a big hurry but I want and need that deep clean feeling. It leaves me feeling refreshed and my skin feeling extra soft. This is not a product that is in my normal skin regimen, I simply use it when needed. It is very easy and simple to use and washes away from the surface of your skin effortlessly. It is also a great product to take on the go if you work out or play sports. You can purchase this item at your local Walmart, Walgreens or CVS. It will run you about five to six dollars. So if you are looking for a refreshing pick me up for your skin, this is it. Enjoy.....

Makeup of the day......Green Smoky Eye (BH Cosmetics)

Today's makeup look was created with the Bh Cosmetics matte and neutral palettes. It is a green smoky Eye. It is one of my absolute favorites. I used a spring green out of the matte palette for the base of my eye lid. I used a dark brown from the neutral palette in the crease. Light tan was used for my highlight on my brow bone and a deep black on the outer crease to smoke it out. To add a little something to the look I lined my bottom lid with Rimmel's jungle green metallic kohl pencil. To complete the look I added black liner and mascara. For my foundation I used Revlon ColorStay in mocha, TrueMatch blush in plum and as a highlight I used Revlon's mineral foundation powder. For my lips I used L'oreal's lip gloss in the shade gold mine. If you are interested in step by step instructions on this look please visit my Youtube channel later tonight. Want Soft Lips? Check this out.......L'oreal's Infallible Collection

Today's blog entry is a product review on the Infallible Collection by L'oreal. I love this collection. It is such a beautiful collection of lip glosses. I have been using this off and on now for maybe two years. Could be longer. This product does just what the advertisement says, it lasts all day. For the most part you don't have to worry about it wearing off. They also have a beautiful selection of colors that dark skinned girls can wear. My favorites are 805 suede, 405 coral sands and 835 truffle. They are a set of very pretty colors. Now these lip glosses will run you about eight dollars a piece (that was the last time I bought one but its been awhile). But it is well worth the money because they last a long time. I have only had to buy one twice, that was the 805 suede, because its my favorite. These are a little cheaper than the Mac glosses so if you are looking for an alternative, this is it. This lip gloss can be found at your nearest Walmart or Walgreens. Alright ladies, smooches! Enjoy........

I also used my new Revlon mineral foundation as a highlight. For step by step instructions on this look check out my Youtube channel later on tonight. Find the Perfect Eyebrow for Your Face......

Okay I'm warning you now. This will probably be a pretty lengthy blog entry but just hear me out please. I have a lot to say and Im sure it will be of some help if you are willing to try it.

The purpose of this particular blog entry is to help you find the correct eyebrow shape for your face. I hear a lot of complaints about people not being happy with the fullness or arch of their brows. Well, today we can fix that. But before we do that lets begin with something that is simple but very important. The right color brow for you. Whether you are coloring, using pencil or powder, no matter how perfect your brows are if the color is off or they look unnatural it messes up everything. First rule is, whatever your particular hair color is you go two colors darker for your eyebrows. Except if your hair is black. If you have blond hair you need light brown brows. If your hair is red you need medium brown brows or a darker red brown brow. If your hair is brown then you need dark brown brows. Now, if you feel any one those colors does not look right on your face according to your particular hair color then chances are you are wearing the wrong color hair for your skin complexion. But that's a whole nother blog entry. The second rule is,NEVER, EVER, EVER WEAR BLACK PENCIL OR POWDER ON YOUR BROWS. It looks very unnatural. VERY! Well to be very frank, its a complete mess. I have seen some, but very few light skinned girls with jet black hair get away with it but it is few and far between. This rule especially applies if you are dark skinned with black hair. You will throw the whole balance of your face off with black eyebrows drawn on.. It also makes us look darker than we are. I know a common question is, "well, what if the hairs in my eyebrows are black?". The answer is, this rule still applies, especially if you are just filling them in. The proper color would be a dark brown pencil and sometimes you can even find a black brown pencil at a beauty supply store.  This will lighten your face up tremendously.

Now that that's out of the way, lets move on to shape. Whether you are getting them arched or filling them in, whether they are thick or super thin, the same rule applies. Take the pencil and line the pencil itself up on the side of your nostril on the inner corner of your eye. The pencil should be in front of your eyebrow, at the beginning. Well on the other side of that pencil is where your eyebrow should begin. If you can only fit one finger between both your eyebrows then you are starting them way too close together. Now the next thing is finding the arch. Look straight ahead, take the pencil and put it on the side of your nostril again. Keep sliding the pencil over at the top until it is lined up with the outside of your pupil(the middle of your eye). Where the top of that pencil ends is where the peak of your arch should be. If it doesn't then your brows are not shaped correctly with your face. The very last thing is, take the pencil and place it at the outside of your nostril again. Slide the end of the pencil over until it is at the very outside of the corner of your eye. Where that pencil lands is where your eyebrow should end. If it ends further than that then you are drawing them way too far out. I have picture illustrations below to show how to do this. By doing so, you will find the perfect shape for your eyes. And one that is the most natural and most flattering. Follow these guidelines when drawing on your brows, filling them in or getting them arched.

Now to take it a step further and make your eyebrows stand out, you will need an eyebrow two sided brush and comb, a concealer or paint pot and a small stiff brush. Comb your eyebrow hairs up and fill them in with the pencil or powder of your choice. When finished, take the brush side of your little comb and brush the front or beginning of eyebrow towards the middle of your face. This will spread and thin out the pencil to create a natural fading effect. If it spreads beyond the starting point of your brows just clean it up with a piece of tissue. The last step is to take your stiff make up brush and apply the concealer or paint pot right below your brows as if you are underlining them them blend it into your eyelid. This last paragraph of steps are optional but will give your eyebrow that "freshly arched" look all the time. Well ladies if you have any questions let me know. I know it sounds complicated but once you do it its not. I posted pics below of the finished results. Enjoy.....
