NYC Lip Sliders.....Product Review....CHECK THIS OUT!

I cant remember if I did a review on these yet, so if it is a repeat please forgive me. Anyway, I love these. Every single one of them.  They are the NYC lip sliders. I don't have one thing bad to say about them. They are affordable and because of their size, very convenient. On plain days I just wear them alone but they also make perfect bases for lipstick or thin gloss. They are very long lasting and they leave your lips very soft. I got these on sale for a crazy price of like 60 cents a piece, I think. I cant quite remember but I know original price is two or three dollars. I would still purchase them at original price. I hope they start making some with shimmer in them lol. So that's all I have to say. To sum it up, THIS IS AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT! You can purchase them at any CVS, Walgreens or Walmart. The colors from left to right are sugar coated, sugar kiss, sugar angel, sugar baby and sugar rush. Enjoy.................

Sephora Blush Me!.......Product Review.....CHECK THIS OUT!.............

I got this blush maybe about two weeks ago and I love it. If I have a full face of light make up on it is definitely my "go to" blush. Its something that you wear everyday.  As far as I can tell, it is long lasting and I'm pretty sure it would look great on any skin tone. For the darker skin toned women, on us it looks very natural. I'm still trying to find the perfect highlight to pair it with. I have been using Rimmel's spring flower and it works but somehow I know I can find something better. This is a Sephora blush from the Blush Me collection in the color rose rebelle n1. I will say it was one of very few matte blushes they had. I am not currently into blushes with shimmer in them. I cant remember the cost of this blush because I did not buy it but I think that it was like twelve dollars. I have posted pics below of me wearing the blush and as I stated earlier it is very natural looking. This product passes with flying colors. Alright ladies, enjoy...............................

Make up Look of the Day.......BH Cosmetics......CHECK THIS OUT!

I have never worn this color on my eyes but I actually like it. I think its periwinkle or something. Very simple look. I used the periwinkle on my lid and I blended it out with a plain brown. Then I lined my lower lid with a blue special effects pencil by Rimmel. My foundation is a little off because once again I tried to use that Custom Creations foundation by Revlon that I did a review on and it did just what I thought. Left me looking ashy lol. But anyway for highlight I used Rimmel London's spring flower and for blush I used Sephora's rose rebelle n1. For my lips I used my NYC lip slider in sugar coated and NYC's lipstick in snowcone. So that's basically it for the look. Enjoy......................

i really hate this foundation!

Product Review....... Dollar Tree Lipgloss......CHECK THIS OUT!

This review is going to be simple and straight to the point. This is some great lip gloss. Just about perfect. It doesn't have a name but they do have it in different flavors. I guess whatever the flavor is will be the name of it. Yes, that sounds bootleg but it is a great product. It is good to wear alone or as a top coat over something else. I love it. It also lasts forever. You only need a very little bit of it. I purchased it for one dollar at the Dollar Tree. This one is green apple but they have them in pear, peach, pink grapefruit, etc...... So if you see them check them out. They are only a dollar lol. Enjoy.....................

Rimmel London's Blush and Highlight....Product Review... Check this out!!!!!!!!!

I know a lot of African American women hate blush. Well, if you don't really know about makeup then I guess you have a reason to. You are probably having flash backs of your mom or maybe even an older aunt that use to wear bright rouge or plum blush on the apples of her cheeks alllllllllll the way up to her ears. I know ya'll know what I'm talking about LOL. Yes, that is a mess but we have come so far when it comes to makeup since then. I know it left a sour taste in your mouth but really,.....its not like that anymore. I have always liked blush but I would only wear it on special occasions. That's because I only knew one way to apply it and I don't want to look that made up all the time. I don't always want to look like a "black china doll" (ya'll know thats what old people always say lol). So, the more I got into makeup I learned that blush, especially for blacks, can be our best friend. Not just blush but highlights also. They work as a team. For darker skinned women if you wear foundation, blushes and highlights are definitely something you should be using. It brightens up the whole face. It helps add dimension to the face. The colors that you use are totally up to you. I have dark blushes and bright highlights. Also shimmery highlights(I hate shimmery blush). I also have a very natural blush and highlight set by NYC(I featured it in a blog entry this past week or weekend). I also use bronzers as highlights because I don't like the idea of my whole face being shimmery. Later this week or early next week I will go into detail and actually do a tutorial on how to apply blush and highlights. I'm still learning techniques but I pretty much have the hang of it. Right now, I learning appropriate colors for different skin tones. The more I learn I will share with you.

So on to the product review. A highlight and blush set that I recently purchased is by Rimmel London. I only use it for a highlight because I am so dark but I think it will be beautiful as a blush on a lighter skin tone. You have to a apply it a little at a time to build the amount of highlight you want because it is light and it has a shimmer to it. If not applied correctly, it will leave you looking a little ashy, which is what happened to me the first day lol but I'll take that one for the team:). I apply it directly under my eyes and to the highest points of my cheeks bones, NOT THE APPLES OF MY CHEEKS.  Some people apply highlight on the bridge of their nose but my nose is a little too big for that so I just stick to my cheek bones. The point of a highlight is to lighten your face and reflect light on the highest points of your face. So where ever you want the light to hit, that's where you apply it. For beginners, I say stick to the highs of your cheeks. Make sure you also use some type of blush to the apples of your cheeks to even out the color. Rimmel London does have other blushes so if you would like you could even use a blush from this brand. This blush/highlight is sheer and lasts all day. It is also very easy to blend. I really like it. I got it from CVS on sale for a dollar but I think original price is four dollars. Which I would gladly pay. I don't like the little brush that comes with it but I guess if you are on the go its okay. If you like highlights please give this product a try. If you are a beginner this is also a good place to start. Enjoy..........

i have it on in this pic but this is a picture I took about 8 hours after applying it.

Save Your Money...Don't Waste It On Cleansing Cloths.....CHECK THIS OUT!

If you really like make up it can be an expensive habit. If you really love make up, you can easily rack up hundreds of dollars worth of it. I will buy expensive makeup items but if I can find the same thing with a cheaper brand and similar quality, I'M ALL FOR IT. Well, I have discovered that it is just as expensive to remove makeup as it is to buy it to put on. I have tried every type of makeup remover you can think of. Well, it feels that way to me. From Lacome, Mary Kay, Ponds, Oil of Olay.......this list goes on and on. Personally, I'm over it. The reason being is not because these products didn't work but when you wear makeup like I do, it can be expensive to keep replacing it. So anyway, about six months ago I ran out of my makeup remover and I needed some right away so I ended up buying some makeup cleansing wipes from the Family Dollar. They were perfect. They were very soft on my skin. They removed the most stubborn makeup that sometimes wont even come off with soap and water. Now this doesn't go for every cheap makeup towelette because the blue pack that I purchased from the Dollar Tree worked okay but not half as well as the ones from the Family Dollar. They barely removed anything and at some point attributed to a few breakouts. So, don't just go for any cheap brand but I do highly recommend the white pack from Family Dollar. They don't have a name, if so, I would give it to you but like I said you can purchase them at Family Dollar for two dollars a pack and there are thirty towelettes in the pack. Ladies save your money. Don't keep wasting eight, twelve or sometimes twenty dollars on makeup removers. Get the job done for less. Enjoy............

Make up Look of the Day.....Physicians Formula Baked Sweets Trio...... CHECK THIS OUT!

Today's makeup look of the day was done using Physicians Formula Baked Sweets Trio. I used the color on the far left for my lid color. I used the color in the middle for a highlight color on my brow bone and and the color on the right I used as a crease color. I lined my waterline with a gray pencil by NYC. Lashes from Revlon(I will do a review on those on a later date). I lined my top lid with NYC liquid liner. Pictures are below.........

Physicians Formula Baked Collection....Product Review...CHECK THIS OUT!!!!!!!

I have so much that I could say about these shadows but I will sum it up the best I can. I started using Physicians Formula about three years ago. From the first time I used an eyeshadow trio I fell in love with the brand. They kind of remind me of a cheap dup of the Lorac quads. So I went out and got every trio set I could find. If you aren't really the type to wear bright colors but you still want noticeable eye make up this is an excellent brand to use. These shadows can be used wet or dry and they are so easy to blend. Most of the ones I have are shimmer colors but I also have a neautral matte set also. Over time Ive outgrown them a little because I like the bolder looks but I still like them. My only issue is that they break and fall apart so easily. I mean, I started out with like ten different trios. I only have seven now and half of those are broken. They are nine dollars a piece which I feel like is a good price if they didn't break. So honestly, I have mixed emotions about the eyeshadow. I really want to replace the broken ones but I have done that several times and I'm not sure its worth it. So here it is.... The quality of the eyeshadow itself is excellent. Packaging is not. The ones that don't break will last you forever so I guess if you try this product my advice to you is be very careful with them. Do not travel with them in your purse and whatever you do, DON'T DROP THEM. I will do a make up look with one of the trios today and post the finish outcome later tonight as a make up of the day look. You can find these at any Walmart, Walgreens or CVS. Enjoy...............

Braid Update..........CHECK THIS OUT!

My braids have been in for about a month and a half. Actually since April 20th. I promised when I put them in that I would give you all an update so here it is.

I will be honest, I have not shampooed them completely yet. I did kinda a co wash a few weeks ago but not really a shampoo. I know that's bad. For the whole first month I don't think I even wrapped them up at night. That's bad also. Over the last two weeks or so I have been a little more diligent in caring for my braids. I started putting mango lime locking gel on them for fuzziness. I also use mousse like once a week. Mousse works well on braids when they are old. I apply pure shea butter on my scalp or my botanical oil by Design Essentials. I just recently redid my edges on Friday and I normally use the edge control wax by Design Essentials for that. As far as hair growth, I have maybe an inch worth of new growth. You cant really tell from the front but the middle is a complete mess. As I told my Youtube subscribers, I do plan to ride these out for another two to three weeks. At that time I think I'm going to start a hair journey so I can do weekly updates on my hair regimen and monthly updates on my hair growth process. I want to do something different so I don't know if I should get a major hair cut then start it, or go natural and start the hair journey. Although I want to try something different my hair is three kinds of nappy so I know that going natural would take a lot of time and patience. We'll see. So anyway that's the braid update. Enjoy.................
